When I work with my new branding clients I like to add a little bit of personality into their business branding especially if they are the face of their brand. It’s important that potential clients get to know and warm to them.
Over the last couple of months I’ve been exploring how personal branding can work in business. It’s also vitally important to select colours and fonts that convey your message and services too. The perfect combination is picking out and selecting a theme that creates a beautiful brand and that you and your clients connect with and fall in love.
I’ve been thinking of various ways you can simply pick out an amazing colour theme for yourself. Simply looking into your wardrobe, around your home and what colours really stand out for and reflect you. Think about which of these colours can fit into your business.
Today I thought about special moments in my life and photos I have around my home already. A day that really stands out is our wedding day. I’ve gathered a collage of photos and picked out the colours of the day.
If any of you have planned a wedding you will remember those hours of looking at flowers, dress colours, looking at themes, venue hunting etc…
I personally loved every minute of the planning process as I’m creative and I had a vision of how I wanted our wedding day to look. As soon as I found my venue and the ceremony I could start to picture the colours I wanted, the style of dress I wanted and general theme that matches the romance of the day.
Whether you loved or loathed the planning experience the outcome was to create a beautiful day that represents you and your partner. Technically similar planning rules can be used when thinking about your branding and theme.
If you want to refresh your brand in 2019, grab a cuppa and have a think about a special day that brings back wonderful memories to you and a day you really felt fabulous. What colours can you see? what tones do you think about and can any of these be included in your brand?
It’s really fun to look back on memories and pick out any colours that stand out for you.

P.S. My wedding details in case you’re interested
Venue: Redworth Hall Hotel in Couty Durham. I love visiting old castles, stately homes and places with a lot of history. The Great Hall at Redworth brought some memories back when Iwas younger standing in an old castle chapel. With the huge windows, fireplaces and that old medieval feel, I fell in love with the room straight away. Luckily for my husband (who I’m sure didn’t want to view a milllion venues) It was the first place we found after staying on a random weekend after we got engaged, not thinking about looking at venues at the time.
Photography: Richard Leng (RL Films) A very talented photographer and videographer, he also shot our beautiful engagemnt shoot in Lodore Falls in Keswick, Lake District. Happy memories, although he also made us sit in a speed boat with the hubby driving, I can’t swim and sometimes being in a boat frightens me, I had a little panic attack when my husband was in charge of this boat and it could easily go wrong lol)
